Habitat for Humanity

Recurring Volunteer

Whether nailing together walls in Bristol, PA, or installing a kitchen north of Detroit, few volunteer activities are as rewarding as Habitat for Humanity. As a frequent volunteer, I have learned the basics of residential structure design and construction methods.

Skills learned and practiced during volunteer work at Habitat for Humanity have helped in design and construction of a "Booth" during CMU Spring Carnival.  Sign up and become a master builder while helping the community!

Pittsburgh Donut Dash

Community Engagement Chair

Pittsburgh Donut Dash is a one mile fun run in which contestants run a half mile, eat 12 donuts, and then finish the mile.  Each year the event donates to The LiveLikeLou Foundation in the fight against ALS.   Since 2014, Pittsburgh Donut Dash has raised over $300,000 to fund a cure.

As a member of the planning committee, I promoted the event at other Pittsburgh campuses and events.  The race grows in scale each year due to participation from students outside CMU's campus.  Learn more or sign up for DonutDash2017
