My Story
Interest in Engineering
Often, engineers are described as logical and practical. Under this analytical exterior, the engineer is incredibly imaginative. Where others see a natural clearing in the woods, engineers see a lofted zipline. Where others see useless household items destined for the dumpster, the engineer sees myriad combinations and uses.
I am intensely motivated by meangingful and challening projects, where success requires combined creativity and hard work. When a project is meaningful, my passion connects me to the work, and my "job" is imbued with meaning.
In Between Work
I find inspiration both in engineering projects and in unrelated hobbies. Staying active while riding my bike or jogging helps me reattach my brain to the present, allowing me to de-stress. When work is done, I like to unwind on a piano. If my dog hears his favorite song, he'll usually join in.
